    1. The Common Quail is a seasonal resident of open habitats throughout Europe, western and central Asia, migrating south to winter in the subcontinent of India and in tropical Africa.

    2. The Jungle Bush-Quail is found in dry grass and scrub jungle. This species occurs only in the Indian subcontinent and Sri Lanka.
