The present work relates to William Scott's Aegean Suite works, some of which were shown at the 1972 exhibition at the Tate Gallery. Scott visited Athens in the autumn of 1968 which may have been the inspiration for the title of these works.
Sarah Whitfield is currently preparing the Catalogue Raisonné of works in oil by William Scott. The William Scott Foundation would like to hear from owners of any work by the artist so that these can be included in this comprehensive catalogue or in future projected catalogues.
