    With yew-wood top and oak sides, the deep drawer with bone panels, all but one drawer lined with original block-printed paper bearing the arms of the Company of Haberdashers, on later bun feet

    The 17th century block-printed paper lining the drawers incorporates the arms of the Company of Haberdashers of the City of London and is personalised with initials (the first indistinct, the second 'T'). A search of the Company's registers shows a William Taylor as Master in 1648 and Francis Towneley as Master in 1669.
