The present lot is after the celebrated dressing-table by Adam Weisweiler, delivered in 1784 by the famous Parisian marchand-mercier Daguerre to the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne, at a cost of 3260 livres, and subsequently placed in Marie-Antoinette's Cabinet intérieur at the Château de Saint-Cloud. It was later brought by Empress Eugènie to the Tuileries Palace and placed in her audience room, the salon bleu.
