    With a trellis frieze centred by scolling acanthus, the jambs with fluted Corinthian columns headed by a Gothic star, with a later limestone slip
    55½ in. (141 cm.) high; 70¼ in. (178.5 cm.) wide; 8 in. (20 cm.) deep; The aperture: 42¾ in. (108.5 cm.) high; 48 in. (122 cm.) wide

    Related chimneypiece designs were executed by the cabinet-maker John Linnell, author of A New Book of Ornaments, 1760; and by the Shrewsbury architect Thomas Farnolls Pritchard (1723-1777) for Croft Castle, Herefordshire Circa 1765 (see H.
