A related card-table with many similar features such as the canted angles, re-entrant corners to the front edge of the folding top, cartouche carving on the legs issuing husks, foliate scrolls at the top of the legs and leaf-carving extending up the leg was sold anonymously, Bonham's, London, 9 April 2002, lot 72. Such similarities in detail suggest both tables may have emanated from the same workshop. The latter table was thought to share many design parallels with an elaborate card-table pattern published by Ince and Mayhew in their Universal System of Household Furniture, 1759-62 (pl. 53).
