    Pre-Lot Text

THE PROPERTY OF A GENTLEMAN (LOTS 778-783)

This distinctive group of French furniture and works of art was assembled in Paris in the first half of the 20th century. Until the late 1940's it furnished the lavish rooms of an hôtel particulier, rue de la Faisanderie, in the 16ème arrondissement. The black and white photographs taken in the 1930's illustrate in situ some of the lots offered here as well as some of the lots sold at Christie's King Street, 'Parisian Taste in London A Private Collection', 10 September 2009, lots 363-384.
