    Jean-Etienne Saint-Georges, maître in 1747.

Etienne Saint-Georges established his workshop in the Rue du Cléry at the sign of the Grand-Saint-Georges. After his death the business was perpetuated by his widow and then by his son Jean-Etienne, while his three daughters married Jean Mouette, J-B Lelarge and Claude Sené. Among the work of the firm was a suite of chairs supplied around 1745 to the Paris Arsenal for the Comte d'Eu who had succeeded his father the Duc du Maine as Grand-Master of the Artillery.
