    Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot, maître in 1729.

For much of his career, Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot was one of the most celebrated and talented menusiers working during the reign of Louis XV. He worked for the French court, supplying furniture to Louis XV, Marie Antoinette, Madame du Barry, the comte d'Artois, the duc de Penthièvre and Louis XV's daughter Madame Elizabeth, duchesse de Parme. This earned him the title of menuisier du Garde-Meuble du Roi (Furniture-Maker to the King's Household). In one year alone, he delivered 60 beds, 50 screens, 4 settees, 135 armchairs, 468 chairs, 21 benches, and 84 stools, for the sum of 18,200 livres.
