    Henri Brunel, maître in 1763.

Surprisingly little is known about Henri Brunel, apart from the fact that he was granted his maîtrise on July 9 1763, became adjoint à syndic in 1788 and syndic the following year. His workshop was recorded in the rue et barrière de Sèvres.

Related high-legged giltwood console tables of the late 18th century include one by Henri Jacob with a similarly fruited and floral-carved frieze, sold from the collection of Hussein Pacha, Tajan, Paris, 14 March 1993, lot 170 (FF350.000).
