    The canted square top with Chinese paling blind fret edge above a panelled side with rockwork-carved angles, on cabriole legs and guttae feet, lacking liner, the underside inscribed in red crayon 'X7531'

    The kettle-stand's design is derived from John Mayhew and William Ince's design for a 'Teakettle Stand', published in their Universal System of Household Furniture, 1759-63.
