With their fruited floral garlands, boldly-carved C-scrolls and putti-adorned pierced frames, these impressive mirrors are reminiscent of the first half 18th Century's Emilian production. Closely related examples include a mirror adorning the Chiesa di San Biagio in Modena and illustrated in E. Colle, Il Mobile Barocco in Italia, Milan, 2000, p. 256, fig. 61 and a further related pair sold at Christie's, Amsterdam, 20-21 December 2006, lot 182 (EUR 9,000 with premium).
