    The rounded rectangular later grey marble top above two frieze cedar-lined drawers with convex quarter-fillets, above a pair of doors with brass grilles with rosette trellis and apricot satin backing, enclosing one adjustable shelf, flanked by reeded tapering columns, on turned tapering feet, the handles replaced

    The present cabinet is characteristic of the work of Henry Holland, in particular the furniture supplied under his direction for the brewer Samuel Whitbread's house, Southill Park, Bedfordshire, 1796-1800. A related side cabinet was sold by the Hon. Clive and Anne Gibson, Sotheby's London, 7 July 2000, lot 53 (£10,800 including premium).
