In this micromosaic, the 'Piazza della Rotonda' is represented as it was at the height of the 1800s: the fountain, a work by Giacomo Della Porta (1578), is in the centre with an Egyptian obelisk constructed by Clement XI in 1711 and coming from the Iseo di Campo Marzio; in the background the Pantheon constructed by Mario Vespasiano Agrippa in 27 B.C. displaying the two belfries by Bernini (1598-1680) built during the Papacy of Urban VIII and demolished in 1882.
