    The rectangular top, now lacking gallery section, above two hinged doors, each with cast-iron letter boxes, and enclosing an arrangement of pigeon holes, flanking a central bird's-eye-maple inlaid fall-front writing slope revealing a central well, six drawers and further pigeon holes, below four further drawers on carved supports and castors, stamped '12' to the interior
