    Certosina, the method of inlay where small tessarae of wood, bone, ivory were arranged in geometric patterns, was popular in Northern Italy and Venice. A related cassone is illustrated in A. Gonzalez-Palacios, Il Tempio del Gusto, Milan, 1986, p.704 fig. 702.
