    Of rectangular form, the white ground painted under the glaze in cobalt-blue, bole-red, green and black with a repeating pattern of central palmette surmounted by a trilobed medallion, the palmette issuing curling saz leaves containing small red and larger white tulips, flanked on either side by another half-medallion, plain narrow turquoise band above and below, chips, small area of repainting

    Similar border tiles are found decorating the ceiling of the Kösem Sultan room in the harem section of the Topkapi Saray (Tashin Öz, Turkish Ceramics, Istanbul, 1988, no. 112, pl.LIX).
