    A late 19th century Neo-Renaissance gold, diamond, gem and enamel pendant
    Modelled as the "pelican in her piety" framed in a pillared niche set with square-cut diamonds and foiled rubies the openwork back plate of polychrome enamel scrolling decoration, the pelican and cygnets with painted enamel detail, beneath a scrolling surmount with diamond and foiled ruby detail between twin serpents suspending a single pearl drop, to a fancy link neckchain with green enamel decoration, circa 1890
