Lot Essay

Born in Abingdon, Berkshire, Tatham studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art, Vicat Cole School of Art and The Royal Academy School where she received several medals. Working in oil and tempera and exhibiting widely, she often painted subjects with a religious theme, showing the influence of the early Renaissance painters, yet treated with a modern twist. She was also an illustrator and worked on a number of children's books.
