Lot Essay

In its original condition, loose and not trimmed and mounted, this is a particularly good set of this magnificent panorama. Vasi's Prospetto is not only breathtaking in its sheer size and abundance of detail but also of great historical interest. (A. P. Frutaz, Le Piante di Roma I, Rome, 1962, no. CLXXI)
