    A tweed stage jacket with Weinstock Subin Co. Sacramanto tag on the inside breast pocket, along with a black tweed tie worn by Buddy Holly during various concert performances during the late 1950s.accompanied by letters from Buddy Holly's sister attesting to the provenance of the items. (4)

    Although it was Elvis Presley who introduced Buddy Holly to Rock and Roll it was Hank Williams's quintessential country sound that was Holly's primary influence. In 1953 at the age of 16 Buddy Holly wrote an illuminating school essay entitled 'My Autobiography' which not only gives an insight into his personality but also reveals his musical ambitions: I have many hobbies some of these are hunting, fishing, leatherwork, reading, painting and playing western music. I have thought about making a career out of western music if I am good enough, but I will just have to wait to see how that turns out...
