The fish Teufal was used by Titan, ruler of the underworld kingdom Titanica, for guidance and inspiration for his evil plans against WASP (World Aquanaut Security Patrol). Stingray was Gerry Anderson's precursor to Thunderbirds. First broadcast on British telelvision in 1964, it ran for 39 episodes, and has the distinction of being the first British television programme to be filmed in colour, although it had to be broadcast in black and white as colour was not used for British television until 1967.
