    Reimer Claussen first met Andy Warhol during his trip to Europe in 1985. At the time Claussen was on the verge of becoming one of the most celebrated fashion designers in Germany. Claussen catered for an international clientel, and especially for German celebrities. In 1986 Claussen received the Goldenes Spinnrad award which was granted for the most exciting tailormade collection designed by an up-and-coming designer in the fashion industry. This award has also been given to Pierre Cardin, Karl Lagerfeld and Wolfgang Joop.
