The collection of oriental bronzes, lacquer, porcelain, nineteenth-century pictures, watercolours and historical portraits formed by the tea merchant W.R. Winch was sold in these Rooms in sales on 13, 14 and 16 July 1888. The old label on the reverse of this picture seems to refer to a slightly earlier sale, on site at North Mymms Park, in which the present picture would have been included.

    Special Notice

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.

    Provenance

W.R. Winch, tea merchant, at North Mymms Park, Hatfield, Hertfordshire; (+), sale, North Mymms Park, 6 July 1888 (according to a label on the reverse).
