Kira Petrovna Verkhovskaya was the daughter of Alexandra Matveevna (Shura) Verkhovskaya (born Shishkova), a family friend of the Somovs from St Petersburg. Mother and daughter worked together in Paris as dressmakers.
During the day and in the evening light I drew. It was a sitting with my new victim, Kira, who readily agreed to pose.
