    Stanley Roy Badmin, R.W.S. 1906-1989

Badmin studied at Camberwell School of Art and at the Royal College of Art. After leaving in 1928, he soon established a reputation for his much sought-after and finely detailed depictions of the English Countryside, becoming, at 26, one of the youngest members of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours. He illustrated Shell Guides, Puffin Picture Books and produced over 100 greetings cards for Royle's, the Fine Art publishers. His work is held by the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Museum.
