    The present work depicts Willard and Susan Jane Metcalf, the artist's grandparents, on the porch of their Georgetown, Massachusetts home.

    This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the work of Willard L. Metcalf by Ira Spanierman, Dr. Bruce Chambers, Dr. William H. Gerdts, and Elizabeth de Veer.
