The annotations on the present lot seem to indicate that it is a 'right to print' proof. However, the final editioned screenprint differs from this impression in several aspects. The green in the background is olive, rather than the bright kelly green here, and is truncated about one quarter of the way up. In addition, the red is not present (the same screen is printed in gray/black) and there is no false platemark.

Chris Prater of Kelpra Studio was the master printer who collaborated with Motherwell on The Basque Suite.
