Belonging to a very rare group of Central Asian embroideries, this Uzbek carpet is distinctive because the motifs, color and medium are atypical of other textiles from this area. Like Suzani embroideries from Uzbekistan, this carpet has a panel construction; however, the floral European style design executed in an all silk pale palette is a departure from the bold, geometric motifs more commonly found in textiles of this region.
