    Seated in padmasana on a cushion with his hands in dhyanamudra, his chest centered by the srivatsa, the face with delicately arched brows flanked by elongated earlobes, the front of the cushion carved with an inscription and scrolling motifs

    The inscription dates this image to the month of Vaishakha, Samvat 1128 (1071-72 CE). For an example in black stone with similar scrollwork see P. Granoff, Victorious Ones, Jain Images of Perfection, 2009, p. 176, lot S09.
