    Christophe Fratin, 1800-1864, the son of a taxidermist trained under the painter Gericault and exhibited at the Salon up to his death. Two studies of recling deer are illustrated in Jane Horswell, Les Animaliers, p.101. and another cast of this bronze illustrated by Pierre Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe siecle, p.325.
