Louis Hottot (1829-1905) was a frequent exhibitor at the Paris Salon from 1885 through 1898, where he exhibited primarily Orientalist-themed works in both bronze and plaster, including Fille d'Egypte (1885) and Almée du Caire (1887). The artist also experienced modest success outside of the Salon as a member of the Sociétaire des Artistes Français.
