    A rare polychromed terracotta stele
    Western Tibet, 8th/9th century
    Molded with a standing Buddha at center over a double lotus base, his left hand raised and his right hand lowered in the gesture of compassion, clad in a long diaphanous robe, his tightly curled hair rising to an ushnisha surmounted by a gold finial, flanked by Bodhisattvas on either side and inset in arched niches, all over a stepped plinth with remains of polychromy overall
