    The front deeply carved with a central niche framing Buddha seated on a pedestal throne with right hand in abhaya mudra between two standing bodhisattvas, the niche bordered by apsaras above and two small seated figures of Buddha and two guardian figures to the sides, with a seated Atlantean figure below flanked by two seated lions, the base carved on three sides with an inscription, traces of pigment

    This small stone votive stele is stylistically similar to two dated to the Tang dynasty illustrated by S. Matsubara in Chuugoku Bukkyo Chokokushi Ron (The Path of Buddhist Sculpture), vol. 3, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song and Taoism Sculpture, Tokyo, 1995, pls. 613 b and c.
