    Compare the similar figure of comparable size illustrated in Chinese Ivories from the Kwan Collection, Art Gallery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1990, no. 63, where it is identified as Maitreya Buddha, and dated Wanli-Chongzhen (1573-1644).
