    A GILT-BRONZE MODEL OF A SEATED LION
    SOUTH GERMAN OR NORTH ITALIAN, EARLY 17TH CENTURY
    Depicted seated and with his right paw supporting an armorial cartouche inscribed 'LEGGITIME CERTANTIBUS', the motto of German Emperor Ferdinand II (r. 1612-1619); on an integrally cast plinth and associated square marble panelled pedestal; minor damages and wear to gilding
