    The four depicting an emperor's chaofu or 'robe of state' decorated with the twelve symbols of Imperial authority on a yellow ground; an 18th century imperial noblewoman's yellow-ground dragon robe; a 17th century nobleman's surcoat decorated with bold gold dragons on a midnight-blue ground; and a 19th century imperial noblewoman's semi-formal court robe decorated with dragon roundels on a turquoise ground, each with an embroidered red maker's seal
