L961.1 three-quarter plate nickel-finished lever movement, 49 jewels, mono-metallic balance adjusted in 5 positions, screwed gold chatons, hand-engraved balance bridges, twin mainspring barrels, the silvered dial with applied Roman and lozenge-shaped numerals on off-centred time display, pink gold alpha hands, small engine-turned subsidiary seconds between 7 and 8, aperture for the tourbillon regulator under a polished steel bridge visible at 5, sector for power reserve indication, patented outsize date display, in circular case with sloping bezel and dowturned lugs, button in the band for rapid date correction, glazed display back secured by six screws, together with an 18k pink gold Lange buckle, case, dial and movement signed

    The Lange 1 Tourbillon was in production between 2000 and 2003 as a limited edition of 250 examples in pink gold and 150 in platinum. The present watch is number 248 of 250. It is the world's first wristwatch combining a tourbillon, patented oversize date, twin mainspring barrels producing three days of power reserve and a progressive power reserve indicator.

    The movement is composed of 378 miniscule parts, the tourbillon alone consists of 72 components, its miniature steel cage is suspended between two diamond endstones and contains the balance-wheel, balance-spring and escapement.
