    AN ART DECO ROCK CRYSTAL AND MULTI-GEM BRACELET-WATCH
    Centering upon an oval plaque set with a green pâte de verre scene of two figures, opening to reveal a watch on the reverse side, with mechanical movement, the white dial with black Arabic numerals and blued-steel hands, within a green enamel bezel, framed by French-cut diamonds, rock crystal and calibré-cut emeralds, flanked by alternating rows of circular-cut diamonds and calibré-cut simulated emeralds, to the faceted rock crystal band, mounted in 18k white and yellow gold, with French assay mark, watch circa 1910, band circa 1935, 7¼ ins.

    This beautiful bracelet-watch is a successful marriage of the Belle Epoque and Art Deco styles. The central watch, enhanced by a delicate pâte-de verre cameo and green guilloché enamel surround, was made around 1915 by the house of Dreicer. Pâte de verre is a technique in which glass paste is pushed into a mold and fired in a kilm. The piece was likely reworked in the mid 1930's. The French manufacturer, Vever, added a rock crystal link bracelet of geometric design, rows of simulated and natural emeralds to create a bold new jewel from the original watch of an earlier era.
