    Cal. 240 Q nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 27 jewels, Gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, 22K gold micro-rotor, the silvered matte dial with applied gold baton numerals, gold dauphine hands, three subsidiary dials indicating day combined with 24 hour display, month combined with leap year indicator, phases of the moon combined with date, the circular case with stepped bezel, snap on back with engraved inscription A.G. 1991, downturned lugs, 18K gold Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed

    Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 1 March 1991 when this watch was purchased by the present owner at Patek Philippe's Salons in Geneva. Furthermore delivered with the Extract from the Archives confirming production of this watch in 1990 and its subsequent sale on 1 March 1991, gold and wooden setting pin, burgundy leather presentation box with electrical winding facility and outer packaging.

    Reference 3940 was launched in 1985 and in production until 2006. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 292-293.
