The present reference 1593, cased in platinum and fitted with the attractive diamond-set dial, represents a most elegant and rare version of the model. It is preserved in very good overall condition and has furthermore never been offered in public before.
Reference 1593 was launched in 1944, and is often considered one of Patek Philippe's best rectangular-shaped designs. The model was produced for over 20 years, mostly in gold, with a few examples cased in platinum.
The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 128 & 129 and 141 & 142.
