    Cal. 240Q nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 27 jewels, Gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, 22K micro-rotor, the silvered matte dial with applied white gold Breguet numerals, white gold moon-style hands, three subsidiary dials indicating day combined with 24 hour display, month combined with leap year indicator and phases of the moon combined with date, in tonneau-shaped case with glazed snap on back, platinum Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed

    Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 15 March 1994 and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1993 and its subsequent sale on 19 January 1994. Furthermore delivered with the 18K white gold and wooden setting pin, burgundy leather presentation box with electrical winding facility and outer packaging.

    The present watch has never been offered in public before and is thought to be one of only 15 examples of reference 5040 in platinum to appear at auction to date.

    Production of reference 5040 was launched in 1995. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 295.
