    Cal. 27-70 CHR mechanical movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 24 jewels, black matte dial, applied gold Arabic numerals, outer tachymetre scale and railway five minute divisions, two sunken engine-turned subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 30 minutes register, large circular water-resistant-type case, stepped bezel, glazed display screw back, 18K gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

    With Patek Philippe undated Certificate of Origin stamped Cortina Watch Centre Pte Ltd, leather folder, product literature, veneered presentation box and outer packaging. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial and Arabic numerals in 1998 and its subsequent sale on 16 December 1998.

    To the best of our knowledge this reference 5070 has never been offered in public before

    Reference 5070, Patek Philippe’s first chronograph-only model since decades was launched in 1998. It was first produced exclusively in yellow gold which was replaced in 2001 by the white gold version. The pink gold variant was launched in 2003, platinum in 2008.

    It is fitted with the calibre 27-70 movement, based on the Nouvelle Lemania ébauche especially developed for Patek Philippe

    With its case diameter of 42 mm. reference 5070 is, together with the Sky Moon Tourbillon ref. 5002 (see lot 85 in this auction), the largest watch in Patek Philippe’s production.
