With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with applied hour markers in white gold in 1954 and its subsequent sale on 6 December 1954.

According to researches, this watch is one of only four examples of reference 2457 in stainless steel to appear in public to date.

Production of the famous Calatrava model with reference 96 was launched in 1932. In 1950 it was replaced by reference 2457. Interestingly the case back of the present watch is stamped with both reference numbers, 96 and 2457.
