According to the Archives of Piaget, the present watch was made in 1971, its case set with 441 diamonds of approx. 1.96 ct., the dial with 156 diamonds of approx. 1.86 ct. and 8 sapphires of approx. 0.14 ct. The movement is the legendary Beta 21 quartz calibre, developed by a consortium of watch companies, including Piaget, at the Swiss Electronic Research Centre or CEH (Centre Electronique Horloger) in Neuchâtel. It was the first quartz movement for wristwatches with analog display.
