Accompanied by Rolex and Agatino Aviolio di Guiseppe, Catania original fitted presentation box.

The present watch is one of the most attractive and best preserved examples of the celebrated reference 3525 chronograph to appear in public in recent years. Made in 1945, it is from the last series of this reference with the engraved reference and serial numbers between the lugs as opposed to on the outside of the case back of the earlier examples. The case shows hardly any wear and has not suffered from overpolishing. In fact, its proportions remain crisp, most evident to the beholders eye are the sharp edges of the lugs.

It is exceedingly difficult to find any reference 3525, either in gold or steel, retaining its original case proportions to such extent. The charismatic dial reflects a great shine with no signs of any restoration and enhances the overall look of this legendary chronograph watch. The flexible Rolex Oyster bracelet was purchased by the first owner from the Rolex retailer Agatino Aviolio di Guiseppe, Catania in 1957 and is in like new condition.

Production of reference 3525 was launched in 1939. Different versions in regard to case material and dial layout are illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 162-192.
