Château Cheval-Blanc 1997
Saint-Émilion, 1er grand cru classé (A)
Offered in an original wooden case
Tasting note: As a constant admirer I find it easier to note its very obvious fragrance and sheer drinkability, less easy to be critical. Certainly a very attractive adolescent. Most recently: an impériale: deep, velvety; sweet, not very clear-cut but attractive nose; sweet, fleshy, fair extract, with some of Cheval-Blancs irresistible charm but lacking finesse. Last tasted March 2005 **** Now – 2012. MB.
