Each of typical shape and with sheaths' belt hooks decorated with silver threads, the first a bone-hilted khanjar with silver mount, possibly from Nizwa, the sheath with elaborate silver repoussé scrolling foliate tendrils and geometric patterns; the second with a silver repoussé hilt applied with rosettes and filigree, possibly a Saidi khanjar, the sheath with intricate applied silver and gold decoration composed of squares and a lozenge, a leather pouch stitched at its back holding a smaller blade with silver repoussé hilt

The foliate decoration of the bone-hilted khanjar is close to examples from the city of Nizwa. A similar dagger is illustrated on the cover of Ruth Hawley's Omani Silver (Longman, London 1978) and attributed to this important city of the Dakhiliyah region.

Our other khanjar, with its added smaller blade at the reverse of its sheath, the profuse decoration composed of geometric and filigree forms and the shape of the rounded pommel bearing three protruding applied finial can be compared with the khanjar illustrated in the same publication, which the author attributes to the Al bu Said family.
