Rumold Mercator's world map condensed his father's great world map of 1569 into double hemispherical form. It first appeared in Isaac Casaubon's edition of Strabo's Geographia (Geneva, 1587), and was then incorporated into editions of Mercator's atlas from 1595 to 1630 with the plate unchanged.
