Architectural title and dedication to Cardinal Mazarin incorporating a view of the Louvre and Notre Dame by ISRAEL SILVESTRE (1621-91), 10 etched plates of theater sets and scenes in this most famous 17th-century opera-ballet in which the King himself danced the role of Apollo, by Silvestre after drawings by FRANÇOIS FRANCART (1622-72), based in turn on Torelli's designs. (Creases in title with outer blank margin replaced.) Bound with 15 OTHER SUITES as listed below: contemporary gold-blocked and paneled vellum, gilt edges, (binding warped, joints split).
